Hi, hello!

I’m Hannah (she/her), a UX Designer with a passion for human-centered design, creative problem-solving, and fostering community in every space.

My design approach is rooted in compassion, active listening, and collaboration. I’m passionate about using my design skills and experiences to design accessible and inclusive experiences for all users. I’ve previously designed and developed for large-scale companies, such as SAP and Securian Financial, as well as non-profit and community organizations such as Code for Philly.

I completed my Bachelor of Science in Graphic Information Technology with a concentration in User Experience (UX) from Arizona State University in 2024. I have worked as a Research Assistant at Temple University’s Human-Computer Interaction Lab since 2023, where I am advised by Dr. Stephen MacNeil. In summer 2024, I was selected for the National Science Foundation REU Internship for Pervasive Computing: Human-Centered Computing.

When I’m not designing on Figma, you can find me taking photos, drawing, and playing the bass guitar.

Things I enjoy! 💭

HCI Research 🔬

My journey into Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research began in 2023 at Temple University’s HCI Lab, where I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects and lead research of my own (read about my project I lead here: Feedstack). Doing research in HCI allows me to explore technology in educational contexts, especially with the rise of GenAI.

Civic Engagement 🏙️

I’m passionate about how human-centered design can drive innovation in non-profit and civic engagement efforts, particularly in using technology to make civic participation more accessible. Through my work with Code for Philly, I’ve contributed to projects like Clean & Green Philly, where I co-lead UX initiatives to improve outreach and volunteer onboarding experiences.

Mentorship & Outreach 🌟

When I transitioned into UX in 2020, I found the process overwhelming. That’s why I really enjoy volunteering with PhillyCHI and the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Philly as a UX Mentor! I work with new designers transitioning into the field, offering guidance on their portfolios and discussing all things UX. It’s incredibly rewarding to support others on their journey into UX, just as others helped me when I was starting out. Check out my mentorship page here!
